The Story Behind Sun Hive

Sun Hive isn’t just a school—it’s a way to give back to the community that brought me up; I believe in pouring back into the places and people that often get overlooked. After over a decade in education and childcare, I saw too many kids and teachers struggling in systems that weren’t built for them. I knew there had to be a better way.

The name Sun Hive is intentional. The sun represents our Sun City of El Paso—warm, strong, and always shining. The hive is about community, working together, and creating something bigger than ourselves. That’s what I want Sun Hive to be: a place where kids feel seen, where learning is exciting, and where teachers fall back in love with teaching.

We’re still in the process of bringing this dream to life, but I want to take you along for the journey. This blog will be a space to share our progress, our vision, and the heart behind everything we’re building.

Because when a community lifts you up, you show up for it in return.
